As a GT3 owner, are you also encouraged to lose some weight in order to further enhance performance? Going on a diet and dropping 10 pounds should make a significant difference. ;-)

The Manual isn't "Slower" (obvi to 60) but on a track
    2017 GT3 Manual 1:24:86
    2018 GT3 PDK 1:24:66
Randy Pobst Willow Springs Hot Lap!
I don't see this new one being much different in the hands of a Pro.

So far all the GPS items are already in other cars, when is a car manufacture going to make only in this car has these extra items, like rolls Royce has the hub caps which spin to stay level for example? Like the corvette has the lift system linked to the GPS and automatically lifts the front and rear of the car, once its put into the GPS linked system, lol :) But it did not cost over 190,000K and that's us dollars as well, in other countries your paying over 350K ?

The reason the PDK shifter uses the same linkage as the manual, is that the new 992 car's PDK is electronically controlled but the GT3 uses the older PDK system that needs a cable lever, so the engineers used the manual's linkage and modified it to work.

@Jose Alexander I had one of the air cooled models and its something completely different. Porsches have gone down hill since 1997 the last year of the 993. I have owned five Porsches and I spent a lot of time in the Porsche dealers service department just being friendly picking up accessories and parts. What I have learned Porsches are cheaply made plastic cars these days and have numerous issues. The more gadgets the more quirks and more plastic the more a car goes down and loses any resemblence of what is was. I remember the Mitsubishi GT-3000 VR-4 when they were new, these cars had twin turbos, all wheel steering, noise cancellation exhausts and so forth. Very difficult to find complex cars that hold up over the years and the Mitsubishi is one great example, modern Porsches are no different. But I loved my air cooled Porsche though and it was one of the last built and you could easily keep these cars on the road for a lifetime and pass it down to a loved one.

The reason more people want manual transmission is that people do not fully understand what is a DCT/PDK and how it actually works
The most cited reason is a manual transmission gives more control which shows ignorance and it is very laughable
They will laugh at themselves in a few years after they understand more about a DCT/PDK
You use your right hand and left foot in a manual while you use your right and left hands in a DCT/PDK and both transmissions give you the same control but a DCT/PDK is much faster and smoother
It is like a dial tone vs a touch-tone phone, both can get you through the telephone line and talk to someone whenever you want but a touch-tone is easier to use and a faster dial
Porsche prediction is based on science while the reality is people are ignorant

So you pay tons of money that porsche even put in thinner carpet and lighter glass to fight for more performance and then you put the 1970’s manual transmission that makes discernibly much slower than the 2022 high tech super fantastic performance boosting PDK? I suppose these same buyers want their Dad’s Tape player in the dash and bulb based headlights and 14” wheels. Also there should be an option that allows you for free to trade your gps navigation system for a three year subscription to that engaging 2” think Thomas guide toad maps.
And Porsche even tells you the manual they install was designed decades ago and has not been updated since. But your new Porsche sports car feels just like that Dart you drove in high school or your Dad took you to the grocery store in decades ago. The PDK is fantastic and the only rational choice for such a high tech incredible car, All these goofball reviewers all want a manual because they think shifting is a skill that other drivers don’t possess. A skill that must of us learned back when in one to three days of driving Dad’s car. Not exactly rocket science to push on a clutch and pull on the shifter, all you lose anyway is the clutch plate that is guaranteed to fail in a few years costing thousands to replace, maybe the manual people should demand adjustable valves and carbuerators too that need adjustment all the time.

And the colour matching rims and headlights come to a total of $3610 and the front axle lift system is $3670 and the engineering that went in to that lift system would justify the price but the little lick of paint around the rims and a colour matching nylon strip in the headlights dont warrant that kind of money for product or installation its pure profit for porche although the axle lift is probably a tiny profit and I bet more people get the painted shit then the thing that will stop them scratching the hell out of there front lip

So someone finally did it. A sealed engine compartment for a production car. Im not impressed, but if anyone could get away with it maybe on a 911 because there has really never been much to see inside the engine flap on those things anyway. The fact that Porsche still offers the manual for the diehard fans is awesome and something to respect them for. This car is prob only one of a few new cars I would even want. Porsche doesn't crap on their heritage and history like another carmaker that I like (cough: Bavarian Motor Werks)

He's basing these scores on this specific spec. Do the scores on what we could get. He said Fun Factor would be better if it was a manual. Well, one can get a manual. He rated it low in Comfort, but you can get comfortable seats, not the buckets. Set aside the fact that we don't care about the comfort category with this car in the first place. We also don't care about what specific car Porsche lent for the press; we care about the car in general since we're going to pick what we want. Speaking of which, I got the call from my dealer two days ago so I can build out my GT3 later this year. C'mon, man! Edit: Value a "6" because you won't lose much? Are you kidding me? Value is a 10 because you could flip this thing for a big profit. Have you seen what the 991s are going for?
