So in the end it’s a rebranded Lotus
It’s so tiny
Lock: one syllable. Unlock: two syllables.
I sure hope that's it
The thumbnail made it look like one of those cars children drive around in
where is model s review Doug?
Looks allot like a Lotus Evora
its the voltic
The doors remind me of a Konesegg.
man is a walking voice crack.
I really wanted to know a bit about this car, I just can't bring myself to tolerate the presenters energy. Calm the F down dude.
I can tell that Elon was influenced by the McLearn F1 he owned, when designing this
The lotus badge is also a triangle like the Tesla......
These are going to have incredible collector value.
Rare ? Where I live you saw them quite a lot back in the days.
Ngl it looks like a Mazda mixed with a Ferrari
13:35 There is a squirrel sprinting across in the back
Either way. This is and was a very cool machine
Looks way better than the sh*tty Tesla sedans today...
All this 0-60 shit. 0-ticket if you do that shit on pretty much ANY regular public road anywhere.
If only modern tesla looked this good
13:05 15 thousand RPM, Doug. The batteries don't just VROOM by themselves with their "battery power".It actually has an electric motor that effectively rotates until 15000RPM, yeah, I know 🤯🤯🤯
13:05 "But 15 what?" 😂I thought he was talking about no need for tachometer because it had no gears, but actually he really thinks the tachometer makes no sense because there's nothing rotating in that car, he thinks the batteries just VROOM by themselves 😅
"There is no motor to turn on""It's strange to see a tachometer because there's no engine to turn"Doug, this might come as a surprise you you, but an electric vehicle has one or several motors with a shaft that effectively turns, yeah, I know 🤯
12:06 Now, that's a difficult one to solve, we might need to call Dora the Explorer...
The only good looking Tesla
I have that turn signal stock on my 2008 Opel Meriva😅😂
Seen this car in pgr4
Newer versions have buttons not a stick shift (edit later versions are way better that the 2008)
There is no RPM?The wheels of this car can turn right? The engine gotta turn something too. That sounds an awful lot like revolutions. And then we live in a world where time is a thing so there are minutes.. RPM
We currently have like 12 of these sitting around at work. Tesla tries to buy them back from the customers.
Do you know why?
Doug looks at cars like Gusto looks at a nice bowl of ratatouille
When doug finds out that electric vehicles also have revolutions:
Take a shot every time he says "Lotus Elise"
Wow a Tesla with buttons
Oh yea the Coil from GTAV xD
Tesla was cool?
Saw a red one on the road downtown Toronto last week... had to do a double take
Viper has the same lumbar pump setup.
Trust The Process
I saw the old roadster vid and I was wondering when he was gonna mention it.
basicly a lotus with a swap
now thats one S3XY car
Was hoping you'd post the link to your previous Roadster review.
airbag disable probably for maintenance
Doug, electric motors turn too,and yes it's measured in rpm
Didn't you review this already?
Esas palancas son del chevy o corsa
I was a passenger in one of these, it felt great especially tbe instant torque / acceleration.
The only Tesla I'm really interested in
The very first video of Doug I saw was of Tesla Roadster.
So it's essentially just an EV variant of the lotus
oh so that's what the superfast electric car in gta5 was based on...
My uncle owns one, he's an early adopter. Very low and hard to get out of lol.
Didn't he review this already?
Doug, wtf!? There are no RPMs? You do realize that the motor spins right? The tachometer shows the motor RPM; this is not mystifying.
I remember this car in Asphalt 6
I remember it from the Oliver Stones's movie Savages.
The Telsa Elise!
I would assume the locking beep is one for locked and two for unlocked, that would at least match Toyota. The way I think of it is the number of syllables in lock = 1 beep, unlock = 2 beeps.
"...it's on cAAArs and bids!" - arms wide open and up! - this guy really knows how to promote stuff!!!
Trust the process lol ....
Shows how much gas and oil it's saved. Buuttt where do people think the electricity is coming from when they charge it??.... hmmmm
Dang this Tesla turned off sounds like my ps4 turned on lol
I wish there's a modern Tesla Roadster ( no, I'm not talking the new one from Tesla )250hp, 1200kg, RWD, no gimmicks/tech. We need more lightweight EVs.
Fun fact lotus borrowed the indicator stalk and wiper stalk from Vauxhall in the UK.....
This is a V1 roadster, so its very limited and not as collectable as later versions. The last update (or R80 upgrade) was the V3, which replaced the battery with a higher density (80KwH) version that gives it 350 mile range. In addition, the touchscreen was moved to the center console.
If the motor is not turning then the car is not moving... Im quite shure that there are rotating parts @ electric motor. This is stupid. 15krpm is totally possible and the tachometer for shure gives motor rpm, not the power usage.
It makes sense, 1 beep= lock 2 beep=unlock. If I’m wrong Elon musk is an imbecile.
Actually it was the only cool tesla ever made.
Keep telling myself I won't watch another one of your videos, because they are unnecessarily long!! that was 6 videos ago🤦♂️ fml
The front looks like an Lotus Evora
You wanna disable your Airbag in case of a crash/ emergency. That it does not blow up in your face, when you try to rescue the driver. first aid class told me that. Gas cars dont have that, because you can kill the airbag with turning off the ignition.
I saw that on the road it was the crazies thing I ever seen
it says stowage?
Taking a guess he, the lock beep corresponds to the syllables; 1 beep for "lock", 2 for "unlock"
Looks more based off the Evora than the elise tbh
hey, Doug can you do a video about the original vw bug from the 60s-70s pretty please!!!
I think even if an exact car like this was produced today, the lack of technology could be excused for this car being more of a lightweight, stripped down, drivers car
Also the only car to be floating around in space
Tesla was never cool
Let's talk about why risk matters. The Highway Transportation System, or HTS, is made up of many different types of people, vehicles, and roadways. You have the most control over your safety within the system. Risky behavior is not just extremely annoying and rude, it puts other road users in the system in serious danger as well. The good news is, you can greatly reduce your risk of a collision by learning how to navigate the system like a pro and by using safe skills to reduce your risk.So you're on the right track. This course, along with solid behind the wheel practice, will prepare you with the skills and safety habits to help you take control of your own and others' safety.Risk FactorsLet's be real. A certain amount of risk while driving is unavoidable. After all, you're driving a two-ton block of steel on wheels at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour (mph)! But seriously, what are some of the most common risk factors for young drivers, and what safe skills can you practice to reduce those risks?6 Common Risk Factors for Young Drivers and Your Safe Skills ResponseInexperienceTeen passengersDistractionsRisky drivingImpaired drivingDriving at night1. InexperienceInexperienceYup, it's nothing personal, but think about it, would you be expected to play Mozart the first time you picked up a violin? Snowboard on a black diamond run without falling on your rump a few thousand times on the kiddy slope? Not a chance. Driving is a skill, and just like any skill, it takes practice.SAFE SKILLSPractice defensive driving habits with an adult or driving instructor in the car as much as possible.Assess your fitness to drive before you get in the car. This means your mental, physical and emotional well-being, including whether you've had enough sleep. This is so important, we've devoted an entire module to it in this course!2. Teen passengersTeen passengersThe image shows a driver distracted by teen passengers.Let's face it, your friends are distracting—they want to joke around, or show you something on their phone, when you've got one job to do—drive safely. It's up to you to have the maturity to take control. An important note, know where you fit into Florida's Graduated Driver's Licensing (GDL), because you may have restrictions on when and with whom you drive.SAFE SKILLSMake sure you and your friends are buckled up, and they understand that they should not distract you while you're driving.Make sure someone you trust and who is reliable sits in the front seat to help with directions or other tasks, so you can focus on your drive.3. DistractionsDistractionsThe image shows a driver distracted by a cell phone. These include cell phone calls and texting (even hands-free!), as well as personal distractions, like grooming and eating behind the wheel—ewwww. Don't discount the danger of this risk. While knowledge and skills are important, attitudes and their corresponding behaviors play a larger role in driver safety!SAFE SKILLSFocus. Drive and only drive when you are behind the wheel.Dock your phone on the dashboard if you must use a GPS.Put your phone on Do Not Disturb (DND) or Driving Mode.Put the phone in the glove compartment if you find you cannot resist touching it. (You know who you are!)4. Risky drivingRisky drivingThe image shows a driver taking a hand off the steering wheel to reach for an object in the back seat. You may know somebody like this—they drive like they're auditioning for a racing movie: speeding, tailgating, not using signals …SAFE SKILLSConsider others. Drive for their safety, as well as your own.Use the defensive driving skills you learn in this course, such as adjusting your speed to road conditions and using proper signaling, whenever you're on the road.5. Impaired drivingDrinking and drivingThe image shows a person rejecting an alcoholic drink while their car keys are in front of them.Drinking alcohol impairs the very skills you need to be a safer driver. Also, don't think pot is any different—it screws up your spatial perception and several other essential brain functions. Even an over-the counter medication could be a problem—any substance that affects your fitness to drive can be dangerous. A driver may be impaired by a drug, but a driver can also be impaired by strong emotions, illness, or fatigue. An impaired driver is an unsafe driver.SAFE SKILLSDrive sober. If you or your friends decide to have even one drink, plan ahead for a ride so you all get home safely. If you're sleepy, angry, or have a fever, don't drive. Your driving skills can be impaired just as bad by being fatigued as they can by being intoxicated.6. Driving at nightDriving at nightThe image shows a driver concerned about the increased risk of driving at night. It's plain and simple: you just can't see as well at night, so you have to be extra careful.SAFE SKILLSTurn your lights on between dusk and dawn.Drive more slowly at night.Expand your space cushion, especially in bad weather or challenging road conditions.Adjust your rearview mirror for night use.Use your low and high beams appropriately: the law says you must turn on your low beams from sunset to sunrise, and whenever visibility is low. Do not use high beams within 300 ft of a vehicle ahead of you going the same direction, or within 500 ft of an oncoming vehicle.Always wear your prescriptive glasses or your contact lenses if you need to, and have an extra pair in the car along with lens solution.
I know for sure that he has made a video on one of these before.
I had a poster of one of these from a book fair and threw it away before Tesla was cool. Sigh.
It was also the only Tesla before the Tesla was only.
Lmao. If GTA copied the Lotus Elise, this is exactly what it would look like 🤣
Fun fact Tesla never really was cool
Doug, you forgot to add points for it for being the only car to ever leave Earths gravity well.
Didn’t he already do this a couple of years ago?
I personally think those window buttons were borrowed from a Mitsubishi
For anyone wondering, it sold for $97,500
Ha I live in Syracuse 😁
